About us

The hostel has had an eventful and turbulent history. Built in 1911 as the most important new hotel building in our state, it suffered a great deal during World War II when it became an emergency accommodation for refugees. In GDR times it was especially popular for the Café Borwin with its great gastronomy and the ballroom with its many dance events. In May 2018, 38 rooms were refurbished and put into operation as a hostel and guest house.
